About Helen Sanderson
Helen Sanderson works as an interior designer, therapist, and professional organizer and is an expert on how our spaces reflect our psyche. Her passion and work center on her interest in the symbols and metaphors of home, holistic interior design, and her belief that personal change must come from a careful consideration of both our physical environment and our inner world.
Helen has trained for many years in psychotherapy, qualified as an interfaith minister, and is a lifelong student of Zen. She integrates these interests and her interior design background into Ministry of Calm: a design practice specializing in spaces that support mindfulness, spiritual contemplation, and inner calm in the home and workplace. She creates beautiful, healing spaces that support people to manage the stresses of modern life. Her clients include Guardian News and Media, Marie Curie Hospice, 38 Degrees, as well as Gloucestershire and Exeter universities.
A recognized authority on mindful design and decluttering, Helen speaks regularly at events such as Ideal Home Show, Grand Designs Live, 100% Design, Mind Body Spirit Festival, and the Multi-Faith Spaces conference. She has been interviewed on BBC Radio London and featured in the Telegraph, Mail, Financial Times, Cosmopolitan, Red, Reader’s Digest, Good Housekeeping, and Irish Independent and is a blogger for the Huffington Post.
